Yogyakarta (12/12/2025) Located at the UMBY Sport Center, Jl Wates Km 10 Argomulyo Sedayu Bantul, on December 12-13, 2025, A total of 150 participants, ranging from preschoolers to teenagers (students), took part in the pencak silat championship organized by the Physical Education Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) as part of the 39th anniversary celebrations of Mercu Buana University Yogyakarta. 

UMBY Rector Dr. Agus Slamet, STP, MP, MCE, stated in his opening remarks, “This championship serves as a platform for fostering camaraderie, strengthening brotherhood, and demonstrating our love for Indonesian culture. hopefully, by holding this championship, it can add to and improve the achievements and foster a spirit of support among the participants. I would also like to thank the organizing committee, Yuri, the health team, and the parents/guardians who have provided support for this activity," he said.

Meanwhile, committee chairperson Ginanjar Nugraheningsih MOr added, “The purpose of this championship is to serve as a forum for coaching, developing potential, and measuring the abilities of martial artists at various levels to find talented athletes, improve the quality and experience of competition, and shape the character of a disciplined, chivalrous younger generation,” she added.
